Overview

This project involved the supply and installation of a steel-framed canopy outside Woolworths Singleton. The purpose was to enhance customer access, weather protection, and modernise the store frontage. All works were carried out during trading hours with minimal disruption to the public or operations.

Scope

• Fabrication and delivery of structural steel components
• Installation of 5 tonnes of galvanised steel canopy framework
• Footing layout and baseplate setup
• Coordination with civil and electrical trades for integrated works
• Site safety management, traffic control and public protection throughout

Challenges

• The site remained fully operational, requiring tight scheduling and coordination to avoid customer impact
• Limited access around the building perimeter due to ongoing redevelopment works
• Multiple trades working in tandem across a compact space
• Structural installation needed to tie into an existing building envelope with precision

Outcome

Despite the logistical constraints, the project was completed efficiently and without delays. The steel canopy installation was completed to a high standard, aligning seamlessly with architectural requirements. The client was particularly pleased with the minimal operational disruption and the clean execution of a complex installation in a live commercial environment.
